Myra,

Thanks for your opinions about SBI. The thing I don't get is that people can set up their own hosting and host unlimited websites for around $6 or so a month cost with companies like HostMonster or Bluehost, etc. plus the cost of a domain name. I do this often times with great success.

The key is that each person has to decide what is best for them. If you like the forums and support that SBI offers, then great and more power to you. However, I find it expensive to pay for that kind of information and support that you can find for free from sites like mine, Courts and Griz's sites also.

There are lots of resources out there on how to do proper SEO, set up Wordpress and research niche topics and keywords. The key is that there is no easy magic pill to take to start making millions online instantly. It takes learning, patience and putting into practice with some experimentation to find what really works for you.

Let me know if I can offer any advice or help also, and thanks for your kind comments! Best wishes in your online ventures!

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and I am not going to jump all over you for being doubtful about SBI. When I first checked it out, I was skeptical too, especially at $299 a year.

However, I tried other things - Wordpress blogs, other hosting, etc. And the sites were pretty...the stats not so much. But I couldn't figure out why.

Then I broke down and did the SBI thing. My current site is less than 4 months old (went live 12/28/08) and I'm already getting an average of 20 unique visitors a day. I have sign-ups for my ezine, etc. I've even started making a little money. Why? Because SBI provided more than a hosting program and a forum.

You see, it is a business building program, more than a site building one. You are taken through an entire process to help you be sure your niche has profit potential. Once you go through this process, you then have all of the tools you need to make income, including autoresponders, ezine capabilities, special file uploading for hosting your freebies (such as PDF files), etc. Not to mention amazing support.

Add to that a forum where the members are friendly (no flaming, no spamming) and willing to share what they've learned, and it pays for itself quickly.

I am pleased with SBI, would recommend it to others.

If it's not for you, that's fine. I wish you all the success in the world, regardless of who your webhost is.

I didn't post on Lis's site because I did find her harsh view unpalatable. Even if you don't agree with or like something, you don't have to perpetuate inaccurate information, which her post does (other SBI members pointed these discrepancies out to her). I much prefer your approach.

And I agree to disagree with you both. :)
