Free Hosting
One of the issues Vic has talked about at Blogger Unleashed is if you don’t have money to get extra hosting or domains, use Squidoo or Wordpress.com or Blogger blogs to create sites.
I can agree with him. But how do you find free hosting?
Here is a list of free hosting services that you can use. Now, they do run ads or banners on “your site” but if you are looking for ways to increase your backlinks or have more sites for affiliate marketing, etc., then this is a great way to go. This is a huge list of free hosting companies, so I won’t copy them here.
Hope this helps! I’m gonna give a few a try too!

Elliot,
I do have a domain set up on a free host. Proud Domains recommended by Court. Those ads at the top are pretty ugly. You do not have to pay for hosting until it starts to make money. You can set up WP on them though. I must admit I have done nothing with my site since I discovered that Internet Marketing is not the right way for me to go at this current time.
If you want a long term business I would not recommend free hosting. Just my opinion.

Wow. Have to agree with Denise here… if you’re wanting to build a long term business… it’s worth the $10 per month for hosting with Hostgator!
Think about it. What’s your initial reaction when you see those ads at the top of the “free hosting” sites? If you don’t hit the back button immediately, then you’re definitely in the minority.
Click on one of the hosting ads to the right… it’s the best $10 or less per month you’ll spend and will at least give you a fighting chance of web site survival!

I agree with you guys, but you can always look around. If you are justing looking to get backlinks and aren’t worried about trying to drive traffic to the free hosted site, then they should be ok.
But, I also agree that wordpress.com and blogger are also free and good for backlinks too.
This list of free hosting sites just offers a little more in the way of allowing you more flexibility in adding your own items, templates, stuff more so than wordpress.com or blogger, which are restrictive as to the template and other items that you can do.
I have many domains that do very well with free customized blogger hosting believe it or not. It’s definitely restrictive but starting out Wordpress was a lot harder to figure out.
Greg, I agree and the more I play around with blogger, it seems like a perfect platform for creating sites for long-tail keywords. It seems to rank really well, has great SEO and you can quickly put a site together.
