I have found that sometimes what occurs is that your account is created, sites bookmarked and then the site itself will go through and either delete, hide or ban your account. I have had and still do have pretty good luck with BMD and like everything else, once you put a link someplace else on another site that is not in your control, you will run into problems with having things deleted or banned. However, I will agree with you that the automatic keyword tool is one of the best things that bookmarking demon has to offer. I've been using it for 30 days and that is my favorite feature (besides for the backlinks obviously). I also bookmark my article directory submissions, when they are approved. Using Yahoo site explorer, some of my niche sites have thousands of bookmarks and other links coming in to them from using BMD.
